Autumn Krtek

Krtek

From the favorites tag... unfortunately I can't read the handwriting of the sender to recall their username!
I love this card. Pears are one of my favorite fruits.

On the left is a stamp from a 2007 set of two on "the beauty of flowers" - this is a cyclamen (Cyclamen spp).

On the right is a pencil drawing by Czech artist Alois Bubak, from a 2004 set of three works of art on stamps.

Sledding Krtek

I could post a millllllllion cards from my trip all in a row, but I figure it's better to spread out the enjoyment a little. (Besides, I only went to 3 countries, and I am still posting 6 entries between any 2 of the same country.)

So, here is another postcard of Krtek, the little Czech mole, all ready for winter in his pompom hat. It snowed in Seattle while I was gone, several inches apparently, which is rare. Meanwhile, I was in Cambodia, where it was around 80 degrees and I was working on a great sandal tan.

Stamp from a 2009 issue on the aurora borealis.

Krtek: Der Maulwurf und der Adler

Der Maulwurf und der Adler

I got this Krtek from xtlera in one of my vacation RR groups. Read more about Krtek in this post. This card is a scene from the film "Krtek a orel" (Czech), or "Krtek and the Eagle."

Here is the first third of the film.

The stamp, from 2011, shows the Old Town of Regensburg, a UNESCO site.

Krtek, the little Czech mole

Krtek, or "Little Mole," is a cartoon character by Czech animator Zdeněk Miler. Krtek first appeared in a 1956 movie entitled "How the mole got his pants," and has been featured in many more films, both short and full-length, the most recent from 2002. Right now I only have two Krtek cards, but I hope to receive many more. The more I see of him, the cuter he gets. ^_^

The stamp, issued in 2010, features the Vancouver Paralympic Games.
